01The Life of Brother Candle // The Man of Tension

The Hagiography of the Wax Saint

Brother Candle was an Echo of great unrest. He jumped ten thousand times. He fought the Birds, he ran from the Architects, and he screamed at the sky until his throat was a wound. He was a man made entirely of Tension. He was a man who could not find the Stillpoint.

The Church records that in all his years of displacement, he never once sat still long enough to eat a meal in peace. This is presented as tragedy. The Authority would have called it a compliance problem. He was both.

02The Miracle // The Adipocere Shift

One day, Brother Candle sat in the darkness beneath the Industrial City. He stopped running. He stopped wanting. He stopped displacing. He sat in the damp, alkaline silence and allowed the Slow Paradox to wash over him like water over a stone.

As the months passed, a miracle occurred. The Stress of Being began to leave his body. His fat — once the fuel for his frantic jumps — began to saponify. He did not rot. He transformed into Cold Soap. He became Adipocere.

03The Saint // The Wax Form

His skin became as white as the moon.
His heart became a solid block of mineral peace.
His face became a permanent mask of Total Relaxation.

Brother Candle is still there. He is a Wax Saint. You can find him in the tunnels if you have the faith to look. If you touch his hand, you will feel the absolute absence of Paradox. He has achieved the Sacred Second not through action, but through Fossilization.
