The 10-Minute Ghost: Case #881

On May 14, 1945, the biological form of Echo-Unit Elara was terminated via standard anti-personnel ordnance during a raid on a Chronoclast safehouse. Clinical death was confirmed at 14:05:01 GMT. However, the subject's Causal Signature did not dissipate.

022.0 // Post-Mortem Displacement

In 2% of High-Momentum Echoes, the brain's "Mnemonic Battery" continues to fire after clinical death. For Elara, ten minutes of residual neural activity were stretched across a subjective 10,000 years due to a Hyper-Resonance Feedback Loop.

  • Simultaneous Displacement: While her body lay on the morgue table, Elara's "Echo" was observed jumping through 400 different Eras simultaneously.
  • Paradox Load: Because she had no biological body to tether her, Elara's Causal Elasticity (C) reached infinity. She was unwinding the 20th century from the morgue.

During her 10,000-year subjective journey, Elara used the morgue's radio equipment to broadcast a "Ghost-Code" — a series of CTH-frequencies that attempted to "Anchor" every dead person in the city to her own dying synapse.

She was trying to create a Graveyard Era where death was not a redaction but a permanent state of displacement. She was trying to make death somewhere you could stay.

At 14:15:02, exactly ten minutes post-death, Elara's last synapse fired. The Loop Authority immediately applied a Full-Era Cauterization to the morgue and surrounding two blocks.

DirectiveADVISORY: The ten minutes after death are the most dangerous. An Echo with nothing to lose is a god with no brakes. Watch the EEG. If it spikes after the heart stops, burn the body.
