Despite possessing a physically intact biological form, the subject insisted with absolute conviction that he had "already been redacted."
He was recovered sitting in the middle of a battlefield. Not hiding. Sitting. Watching the shells land. He told the retrieval team he hadn't moved because "there was nothing there that could be hurt." He meant himself.

The Null-Body
Unlike the psychiatric version of Cotard's found in linear humans, the temporal variant is a physiological reaction to Momentum Collapse. When Elias's Anchor Strength dropped to zero during a jump, his brain uncoupled from the concept of "Biological Presence."

The following are direct transcriptions from intake interviews, Day 1 through Day 4:
"Why would you feed a memory that doesn't exist? You are trying to put bread into a ghost's mouth."
"I can feel my edges. They are not solid. I am leaking into the previous second. By the time you finish speaking to me, I will have dissolved into the hour before this one."
"You smell real. I envy that."
That last one stays with me. He wasn't hostile. He was genuinely curious about what it felt like to be certain you existed. I didn't know how to answer him. I'm still not sure I do.

Paradox Neutrality
The danger of a Cotard-class Echo is their "Paradox Neutrality." Because Elias believed he was already dead, his actions generated zero Paradox Tension.
He could walk through the middle of a war-zone or alter critical history without the timeline "noticing" him. He was a Causal Null-Point.
Clinical Note — Day 7
We tested his neutrality by having him stand at a recognized Paradox Node. Standard readings: 0.00 units. He stood at the exact moment of a documented historical inflection point and the Recurser machines registered nothing. As far as the Chronoverse was concerned, he wasn't there. He hasn't been anywhere for a long time.

Stationary Fossilization
Elias eventually entered a state of Akinetic Mutism. He remains in our containment, a living statue who believes he is an empty suit of clothes. We have ceased all attempts at re-synchronization.
He is a warning to all Echoes: if you stop believing you exist, the universe eventually agrees with you.
I visit him on Tuesdays. He doesn't respond, but I've noticed his eyes track the door when I leave. Something in there is still watching. I don't know if that makes it better or worse. I've decided it makes it worse.
