Identity Standardization: The Death of the Outlier
I've seen the "Wolbachia" virus in action in the year 2150, and it is the most clinical horror I have ever documented. The Authority calls it Identity Standardization. I call it the Death of the Outlier.
In nature, Wolbachia can turn male insects into females to ensure its own transmission. In the Chronoverse, the Authority uses a CTH-viral strain to ensure that all Echoes in a given Era "match the template."
If an Echo is "Divergent" — meaning their profile doesn't match the statistical majority of the timeline they've jumped into — the virus begins to rewrite their Biological Code.
The victim doesn't fight it. Because the virus rewrites the Memory Core first, the patient believes they have always been the person they are becoming. They look at their old Chronicle and see "typos."
